Good morning, dear Grasshoppers—are you about to faint? This is a Musings posting!!!
No, so sorry, this is not a sign of things to come...I continue to find myself mute...and I'm STILL trying to gather words to write my annual letter, with thoughts on 2011 (which is almost old news by now, eh?)
But speaking of OLD NEWS...the reason I'm Musing is the Big Story to hit the scene (one of the big stories these days) it's the one about the Zodiac moving, yikes!
This has had me writing so many of you one by one, that I decided the best thing to do is to write and reassure you all that “All's still well with our reality—the old astrology is here to stay”
The “Big News” is about an entirely different form of astrology known as Sidereal, or Vedic astrology. This is a system that takes into account the whole 'we're not where we used to be in space' thing...in Sidereal, that's the whole point! It's a moving galaxy!
Personally, I use what most of us are familiar with here in the Western world—in fact, it is often called Western Astrology—but it is officially known as Tropical astrology, which is based on the position of the Sun and the seasons. My friend Renee Bornstein has written a blog on it Astronee's Astrology Blog, which is brilliant and tells you all about it—I could not teach it as well, so if you are interested, tune it up! (ps... I wish I had the technical ability to create a link, if you can't get Renee's post, email me and I will forward the blog to you!)
That said, the other part is the introduction to Ophiuchus, one of the 88 other constellations in our Zodiac (yup, we have always known there is more than 12!). This is the only constellation named for a once-alive man, and his qualities and the things attributed to Ophiuchus are:
interpreter of dreams, vivid premonitions,
attracts good luck and fruitful blessings,
serpent holder, lofty ideals,
a seeker of peace and harmony,
doctor of medicine or science, natural-pathic,
adds, increases, joins, or gathers together
poetical, inventive nature, expanding qualities,
seeks higher education and wisdom,
overseer, supervisor of work,
fame - either grand, or completely misunderstood,
longevity, aspirations of healing the ills of man,
architect, builder, reaches for the stars, figuratively and literally,
tax assessor, or levys taxes,
astrological talents, intuitive,
large family indicated, but apt to be separated from them when young,
the number twelve holds great significance,
foresight and good fortune to benefit from hard times,
has secret enemies in family or close associations,
many jealous of this subject,
notable father, apple of father's eye when young,
high position in life expected [depending on aspects] highest fame and legend comes after death
feelings of granular, wise, genius mentality,
likes to wear clothing of vibrant colors, and plaids in particular,
receives the favor of those in authority.
By the way, I got this online, I just cut and pasted it—you can Google and get a more thorough rendition of this constellation's meaning.
When a concept enters “The Collective” it brings something we are attempting to integrate. These qualities of healing and peace and harmony are very needed these days, eh? We are indeed wrestling with our 'inner snakes' attempting to move out of an old skin into a renewed and healthy new form.
Well, hope that gives you what you need to feel reassured.
The important thing to remember is that we are ALL connected to everything—it does not matter what words or concepts we use, you can call it whatever you want, but life is a fascinating mystery where each piece has purpose and meaning. We know that there are invisible energies connecting us to each other, all matter, and all Time. An example is that you can't SEE electricity or microwaves, but it/they are EVERYWHERE..what we see is the results of their effect even though they, themselves are not visible.
We do not use Astrology to enslave us, to give us some religious paradigm that forces us to think a certain way—we use it as a 'metaphor' to try to understand something about ourselves and our lives and our relationship with Time and Patterns.
I remember the first time I had my chart read—to feel “seen” was amazing to me...but the thought that we came into this life with a map was beyond reassuring. Bigger than that, however, was the fact that there was a knowledge available (astrology) where it was possible to observe and make sense of the patterns—and this was so empowering to me, it literally changed my life.
Okey dokey, there you have it—onward to create your reality—(aka have a nice day) and be assured that you are part of a grand, beautiful design...all we ever need to improve our attitude is to just “look up”, and feel the Great Connection.
