I woke up this morning feeling like my old, true self.  It has been so long, it startled me!  I, of course, went searching ‘the stars’ to see what the heck had changed. 

The Moon in Taurus was rattling around in a big old fixed t-square that is at the backdrop of The Heavens these days, so no great relief pattern there.

All of the other planets are where they were yesterday except for Mercury, which had moved into in Libra, and that aspect is setting off all the squares that are in my own Natal chart.  STILL, as I look again at Mercury, I DO see that the long standing square from Mercury to Pluto has, with his exit from Virgo, finally pulled out of orbit.

Mercury, planet of the mind square Pluto, God of the Underworld.  Yeah, I think that’s it.

Which brings me to today’s message. 

Here in Dujour, my habit is to look at the exact aspects of the day to give us some ‘grip’ on the tone of ‘The Collective’ mood.  These aspects, however, are more influential than just the exact moment that they occur.  They do, in fact, prevail over a far greater time span.  To some, who have aspects in their own natal chart (that interact with these transits); these influences can set in motion a situation that can take years to sort through!  Then there is the matter of those that are born under these aspects—for them they will last a lifetime!

So, the Mercury/Pluto influence, for example, has been in effect for much longer than the exact aspect that occurred on September 15th!  It moved ‘into orb’ about a week before that date, and it remained ‘in orb’ until it left Virgo.  Technically, it is still in orb—it is an ‘out of sign’ square.  Squares, you recall, are 90 degree angles, regardless of the signs they occupy.  It is my experience, however, ‘out of sign, out of mind’ is more than often true, and today’s mental relief is enough for me to reinforce my belief system!

Anyway, as I mentioned, our Moon Girl, whenever she will travel through Taurus will be a busy luminary for months to come.  Until February, each month when she returns to this placement, she will conjunct Mars (tonight at 8:45 p.m.) square Saturn (happened yesterday evening at 6:37 p, m,) and square Neptune (7:15 a.m. this morning).  Starting after the 25th of October, she will also oppose Jupiter!  Geez, this is going to be a VERY intense winter!  More on this Grand Square in the sky as the days and months go by….so much more you will all be tired of hearing about it!  Ha!

Anyway, your homework for today, Grasshoppers, is to NOTICE.  Every time we hit the any angle of the existing square, SEE how it is influencing your life.  What we are trying to do here is customize this experience—you will eventually observe a reoccurring pattern, for example:  “The square brings……*money problems * money resolves  *arguments with friends or family *solutions to problems with family or friends *headaches *energy….who knows?  YOU WILL….if you watch with detachment.  My friend and teacher Angeles Arrien always says, “Detachment is a form of objectivity that includes caring”.  I really like that one!

If you objectively observe your self and your life each time this pattern repeats, you will eventually see how and what this pattern keeps bringing up for 'review'.  Fixed means solid, attached, grounded or stuck.  The square is all about getting 'unstuck'.  Grand squares are all about changing long-standing patterns, and when we change the pattern in any significant way, we change our world.
