Weekend
September 24 & 25 2005
This weekend launches with a void-of-course moon in Gemini. Our Luna’s last act of connection is her trine to Jupiter in Aquarius at 5:57 a.m. I think she’s trying to ‘make up’ for some of the stressful dreams that she might have caused us with her middle of the night opposition to Pluto. (3:31 a.m.) None-the-less with her Jupiter trine as compensation (last minute early morning ‘sweet dreams’), all is forgiven.
For the rest of this day, this void gives our emotions a chance to free lance. This can be turbulent, eh? As always, it is up to us to reign in our ever-active imaginations (am I projecting again?) and remember that feelings, while very important, are energies that can be directed—we do not need to let them direct us! (Ha ha—like I have this one down!)
At 7:10 this evening, Luna enters her home sign of Cancer (talk about emotions!) and she doesn’t ‘beat around the, ahem, Bush’ as ‘tout suite’ she squares our newly arrived Sun in Libra. This just might be another interesting weekend for the ‘leader’ of our tribe here on Turtle Island, since W.’s Sun is in Cancer and his Moon is in Libra! (Does this administration remind anyone else of that old TV show called,
“F-Troup”?) It can’t be an easy time for this man, he was never cut out for leadership. Ah well, evidence of the Irony Committee again!
Tonight at 11:41 p.m., the Sun/Moon square is exact and for all of you late-nighters, it might be time to go home and just 'sleep it off'! These squares are fun when the mind is fresh, and 'high tide' when it is end-of-the-day tired. Sleep is good.
As for the other members of the celestial crew, our favorite diva Venus, who is resorting in her dramatic fall home of Scorpio, will find her self at odds with the enigmatic Neptune. They will square at 12:21 p.m. today—decorating disagreement? Actually, these two are both such eccentric artists, this aspect can be a very exciting one. Think Picasso having lunch with Freud! Two different ways to express imagination, two different ways of perceiving humanity—and when they come together, something’s gotta give--by expanding! With this aspect, it's is a great day to rearrange your house and put that furniture in a corner that you have never put it before! Take a risk, cook something wild. Wear something 'mis-matched' It’s all about the stretch!
Sunday is planetarily mild here on the blue-green planet, as far as exact aspects go. However, to tell you the truth, I can not call any day mild with our little Yod still in full force dominating our celestial canapy. This Yod is like some alien ship creating a large swirling vortex all across the sky. Well, we’re humans—we should be able to pretend that it is not there! Ha!
It’s true, though. Denial is an intrinsic and practical mental protection. We can only take so much. We are battered left and right lately with constant stories of death. Let’s face it—here we are, stranded on this alien location where we know that at any moment some weird thing can happen and ‘take us out’! We cultivate our ‘denial’, not just as a way of ignoring the facts, but as the only way to be able to customise our reality, and (hopefully) have some FUN here on this strange and dangerous planet. Actually, if you believe that there is a part of you that is ‘Eternal’ aka a soul, then you know that nothing can really take you out. It’s just that you don’t get to KNOW if that ‘soul’ idea is true, either! What a fun game!
Anyway, just a little sermon for your Sunday.
In the middle of this night, at 3:59 a.m., our Mercury will be in a sextile to Saturn, so this is a great aspect to have a dream that can help you ‘solve problems’! Have you ever tried to direct your dreams? Sometimes it works, some times it doesn’t . If there is something you are struggling with in your conscious reality, before you let your mind flow to the sleep/dream world, give it an assignment. Ask it for a dream that will guide you to your solution. Some times you will need to do this for several days, but I’ll be darned, it really does seem to work eventually! Of course, you will still need to interpret whatever your sub-conscious mind gives you, and you know that sub-conscious minds are wild. Give it a try and have fun with it!
Early this morning, 10:37 a.m., Luna will dance with Uranus—a wild Tango, no doubt! Water to water, this could encourage our hurricanes to increase or it could be ‘homeopathic’ you know, like cures like, and things could settle down. We should watch closely, as we seem to get a storm every time the Moon goes into Gemini lately (Katrina, Rita) and the Moon in Cancer will always follow. Watch for patterns, Grasshoppers!
The last aspect of our day occurs at 1:01 p.m. this afternoon when our Moon in Cancer will square Mercury in Libra. Nothing major, but potentially a bit of frustration. Fast moving and edgy, also a good energy for creation and imagination.
Okay, aspects reported on, but there is one more thing I wanted to mention.
My friend Laurel sent me something very important. Whenever I watch those commercials with big budget advertising for a proposition, especially with a woman’s voice all smooth and conciliatory, I get suspicious. I always look for who paid for the ad, and with prop 79, I could see right away that it was sponsored by Johnson & Johnson and several other drug companies. ANOTHER TRICK, FOLKS!
I will print important ACTUAL information on this proposition at the end of our Dujour today.
Last but NOT LEAST…… today at the Sonoma Vintage Festival (on The Square in Sonoma) Rock Bottom Blues will be the headliners!!! Gabe, my firstborn is one of the two (fabulous!) lead guitarists in this fine group, and there is a brand new drummer, that I hear is top of the line! Show up and have a dance, they are just wonderful! Have a great weekend!
Here is the Prop 79 info:
We've got to get the word out to voters- we're combating an ad campaign by the drug companies (Glaxo Smith Kline and Merck each kicked in 10 million to defeat prop 79)
In a nutshell:
Prop 79 will cover almost 2x as many Californians:
(Income cut-off for prop 78 is 29,000 for a single, 58,000 for a family of 4 PROP 79 WILL COVER INCOME LEVELS OF 38,000 FOR A SINGLE, 77,000 FOR A FAMILY OF 4)
79 CAN REDUCE EMPLOYER PREMIUMS BY AUTHORIZING A NEW PURCHASING POOL TO REDUCE DRUG PRICES FOR EMPLOYER PAID COVERAGE!
PROP 79 CONTAINS A PROVISION TO COVER PATIENTS DEALING WITH CATASTROPHIC MEDICAL EXPENSES!!!! (THAT COULD BE ANY ONE OF US, REGARDLESS OF INCOME LEVEL)
THE REAL REASON THE DRUG COMPANIES ARE SCARED OF PROP 79:
PROP 79 HAS A PROVISION THAT WOULD MAKE PRESCRIPTION DRUG PROFITEERING A CIVIL VIOLATION!!!!
The way it stands now, and will remain if prop 78 passes and 79 is defeated, we are powerless over what these guys do. THEY CAN CHARGE WHATEVER THEY WANT, AND WE JUST HAVE TO TAKE IT!
PROP 79 WOULD GIVE CALIFORNIANS THE POWER TO STAND UP TO THE PHARMECEUTICAL COMPANIES WHEN THEY REAP OBSCENE PROFITS AT OUR EXPENSE!
This is totally a David vs. Goliath kind of thing, so grab some stones, fire up your email and let those bastards have it. Let's make sure the millions they pumped into the 'defeat 79 campaign' goes to waste!!!
PASS IT ON!
