I was up unusually early this morning and I staggered half asleep to the door to let the dogs out.  When I stepped outside, I was greeted by a most exquisite star pattern in the Eastern sky!  Luna, in a modest crescent, was surrounded by speckles of twinkling lights.  Quick to the ephemeris my sleepy-head brain ran, I was certain there was some significant conjunction aligned outside my doorway, but no.  The only planet she was in conjunction with was Saturn, and I do not think my dimming eyes could pick that one up, unmagnified at 5:30 a.m.  Still, such beauty and peace poured over me, and I stood there a while.  Then I sighed and came on in, off to do the 1,000 things that got me up so early.

Nature/Mind.  Two very large forces and we humans are caught directly between them! 

So here I am, drinking my coffee and pondering the eternal (what else do YOU think about with your coffee?) and with my busy mind puttering about, I decide to zap to Google News just to kick start the day.  Shoulda just stuck to the stars, Google makes me angry and sad every time. 

Today I see that ‘they’ have sentenced Lynndie England to many years in prison for her part in the Abu Ghraib prison torture scandal.  ‘They’ are NOT putting George W. Bush in prison, even though he vetoed John McCain’s new bill to uphold the rules of the Geneva Convention.  Torture’s okay if guys do it?  Torture’s okay if there are no photos of it?  Torture’s okay if you make money on it?  No matter, the likes of Lynndie England, a twenty year old woman, will always be the ones to carry the blame for The Power Elite.  

I am not condoning Lynndie’s actions.  She knew better and she let herself get talked into doing something that she did not feel was right, just to please her boyfriend.  Humm…none of us have ever done THAT, before, have we?   She is twenty years old.  Who knows diddley at twenty?  She was cruel and insulting, but I doubt that she was the one who set the thing up, or would have thought of it at all had it not been for the human trait of ‘following along’ and the female trait of ‘trying to please’.  We must all take heed.  It is ALWAYS important to QUESTION AUTHORITY…all the time!  Lynndie, by the way, has an eleven month old son; fathered by the guy she was ‘impressing’ at the prison.  He is serving ten years, but before he left for his sentence, he split up with Lynndie and he married someone else.

Okay, it’s 6:38 a.m. and I am reining myself in now—sorry—I’ve been sitting here on the edge of The Galaxy surrounded by stars just too early in the am, …too hard to ponder it all before the caffeine hits…and indeed too early for Google.

On the astro front today, star pattern changes are slim.  Luna, void since yesterday evening, moves into the fixed fire sign of Leo, where her only aspect of the day will be a sweet one—at 5:06 p.m. she will sextile The Sun in Libra.  This is an aspect that attempts to restore balance, and that is always a helpful energy.  In spite of my early am diatribe, it really IS a good day in the stars….which brings me to my REAL message of the day!

I personally am blessed with the best aspect of the Zodiac in my natal chart—I have Jupiter, planet of fortune, in my House of Friendship!  I wouldn’t trade it for all of the money in the Bush fortune!  The upshot of it all is that I get to work with my best friends (I include all of you in this aspect, you are a wonderful part of my day)  but here at Cardinal Star Systems, there are three of us here to serve you.  You all know me, you know Audrey (you talk to her when you make an appointment, she’s the one who gets things right!) but you may not know our third Cardinal Girl—the magnificent Barbara Jacobsen, who works the Saturday shift and fills in when needed. 

Barbara is not only a Cardinal Star Girl, but she is an exceptional artist, a teacher, a Tarot reader (you have been reading her Tarot card-of-the-month for many months now!) and one of the most kind, caring, loving and pure spirits on the planet today.  And my point here?  Well—Cardinal Barb—it’s your BIRTHDAY!!!

Being a Cardinal girl means that her Sun is in Libra and her Moon is in Cancer, both cardinal signs,  and this year’s birthday brings her Sun and Moon back to those original signs, a complete ‘Return’—and this is most auspicious!

This makes sense, as this year she has launched  a new enterprise that is a wonderful mix of her various talents.  Jupiter in Libra, her sun sign, has presided over this last year for Barb, and after many years of teaching collage art with Audrey, she has created a class format that uses all of her areas of expertise.  Her new classes combine collage art, image interpretation and writing, and Haiku Poetry—a complete expression combining the inner worlds and the outer worlds, giving each of her fortunate students a template to create a book that reveals, enlightens, and uncovers the deepest parts of their unexplored selves!  You might want to consider the opportunity you have to take one of these classes—Barb has a waiting list already, and it might be prudent to hop on it!

Sun’s up—wow.  Stars disappear and the lights bring their own beauty.  It’s going to be a lovely day….wishing you all a happy one, and Barbara, I consider knowing you one of the great blessings of my life!
