Well, you can see as it often is, today it is all about the Moon.  We know though, don’t we Grasshoppers, that so much more is going on out in our solar system that influences us, whether it is an exact aspect or not—n’est pas?

I was reading Maya Del Mar’s column yesterday (She is fabulous, writes for The Mountain Astrologer!) that Chiron, the planetoid called The Wounded Healer, went direct on October 5.  Remember, when these large 'rocks' in space change direction, we small beings FEEL it!

In personal readings, I have enjoyed telling Chiron’s myth, seeing where he lives in our charts, and assuming this is where we need healing and where courage is “The Key” (Chiron’s symbol looks like a key) best applied.  It sounds like such a positive energy, and after all, Chiron is such a small object in space! (150 miles diameter!) Except, as always, the first rule in astrology is observation, and I have observed what this planet DOES in a person’s chart!  He can be a real episode!  I have seen less than fun Chiron experiences, and although it sounds just ducky to heal, sometimes ‘the medicine’ is a bitter pill.

Chiron returns every fifty years.  If you are fifty, you are experiencing your Chiron return.  It always has a certain ‘traumatic’ quality to it.  For me, the trauma was just BEING 50!  It is, I believe, when we realize that aging isn’t something that happens to “other people” but in fact, is happening to us.

Chiron is currently in the last degrees of Capricorn, where it has been for the last four years.  It went into Capricorn in January of 2001, and remember, Capricorn is the sign of government.  Crisis, indeed!!!  Why is our government falling apart?  Well, perhaps it is because so few people think in support of it!

Since the ‘Regan Era’, we have been taught that the ‘good government’ is a small government.  Less people, no taxes, no ‘interference’.  Yeah.  Right.  Turns out this has left the Foxes to hold the chicken coop together, and since then, we chickens have been picked off, one by one.  Chiron in Capricorn has shown us what happens when the Government is not By the People or For the People because it is not valued by the People!  Our government is wounded, and it needs healing.  That’s where Chiron comes in!  Never forget—what happens when we have a grave illness, just before we get better?  We have a healing crisis!!!  The fever rises!

On October 5 Chiron went direct, and it will travel through the last degrees of Capricorn, and on the 7th of December, it will move into Aquarius, where it will attempt to heal the collective spirit of The People until 2010! (That aught to give us enough time to figure SOMETHING out!)  Hopefully, the brave Centaur’s helpful energy will be strong enough to cut through the years of brainwashing we have had.

Jesus said, “That which you do to the least of you, you do unto me” (or something like that—been a while since I went to Bible School!)  Aquarius is the sign that reminds us that we are all a part of the whole.  Let us heal our resentment of the government, and realize that the government is US! We are needed by each other, let’s get to work!
