Hello Everyone, and Happy Summer Solstice!

Every day as I post Dujour on the Musings section of my website, I cringe noticing how long it has been since I wrote a new“Message from PJ”!   Even though it's been nagging at me for quite some time now, I have gotten really good at ignoring it---being too busy to do everything on your list does that to you, you just get better at tuning “out!”

This being the first day of a new season, however, it felt like I was at a beginning again, I was not late but in fact, right on time!  How do you like that rational, ha!

Anyway, there’s not much to report, but I did want to say a few things about Dujour to you all.

First of all, thank you so much for coming along for the ride with me!  I love hearing from you, and I really, really love knowing you are there with me.  For me Dujour serves two purposes.

First, I am trying to develop writing discipline.  There are a couple of things I have in my head that I’d love to create, but they have to make it out of my head and out on to the paper.  Nothing happens without practice, so this is my practice.

Second, and most significantly, I really love sharing what I know about Astrology with you!  I love it when you ‘get it’ and can put it together for your own personal use, and you are able to use it to empower your mind.  I like this bigger relationship with all of you very much; it’s a work in progress, and I thank you for being here as this new way to be is developing!

I have never kept a journal before.  My closest experience was writing in a diary when I was ten years old, which I kept for a week (it was fashionable then, remember they had the little locks and keys?)  I got bored ten pages into it, and that was that.

Writing Dujour feels a bit like journaling, only I’m writing this ‘journal’ from the inside of a fishbowl and everyone sees and hears what’s inside my mind and knows when I am unraveling.  I try to keep it “Just the facts, folks and nothing but the facts” but it’s often more like “Postcards from the Edge”.  Well, I just figure there are enough astrological perks to overlook my mumbled mind, and hey, sometimes my personal mumblings illustrate my point!

There is one more totally groovy by product for me with Dujour:  I have been learning tons about astrology---and now I always know where everything is ‘up there’--- at all times!

For years I have had a complete “Ephemeris” (the book of planetary placement) welded inside my brain, with the movement and location of the last five outer planets at almost any time throughout this last century.  I never had a clue where the Moon was, though!  Furthermore, I dismissed Venus and Mars and only really paid attention to Mercury when he went retrograde!   I did this because I didn’t want to get too micro about it all.  Overview.  That was what I thought was useful, and I felt that getting hung up on the details was just neurotic.  I guess I just needed the space from the awareness at that time, but I have really been enjoying this newfound knowing. At times I find that it IS neurotic, but it’s also quite useful!

In fact, it’s often been like some weird Twilight Zone episode where I would write something in the morning, and by nightfall one of the examples written about would have happened literally to someone I knew or to myself!  “Hey---this stuff really works!!!”

Which brings me back to the whole point.  The value of Astrology is seeing the patterns emerge and then using your observations to your personal advantage.

So, here is a suggestion.

Make your own little astrological “journal” or diary.  When you see where the Moon is, write yourself a note about your experiences of the day.  You could even make it just one word.  “Tired, cranky, excited, happy, energetic, hungry, (for example, I noticed that I am ravenous when the Moon is in Leo---I have no idea why, it just happens time and again, curious---but it does help me plan ahead with my dietary choices) and, you see, that is astrology at work!  If you know what to expect, you can empower yourselves ahead of time.

The planets in our great Zodiacal circle are ever-generous bringers of hope, resources and energy, because they never stop---they are always coming back around, and that brass ring on the merry-go-round is always just one loop away!

If we learn how these patterns impact our lives, we feel less lost in the Galaxy.  The fact that we came with a map included has always been a good sign to me!  Might as well use the map, we don’t want to spend the rest of our lives riding around that freeway and never getting off the road!

Thanks again for sharing daily thought waves with me!

Hope you have a magnificent summer!

Love,

PJ!
