The Story of Now and The USA
It all began in 1776...actually, 14 years before that...(1762) that was the last time Pluto, God of the Underworld, entered Capricorn, sign of the government. At that time, we were busy fighting the Revolutionary War, killing natives and breaking away from a "Mad King" in Merry Old England. We were going through identity changes...most refugees had come from monarchies and we knew we wanted to change that form of government. FREEDOM was the battle cry. July 4, 1776, sometime in the middle of the night (and over the next few days, hence many people's different take on the USA's chart) the signers signed into infamy the Declaration of Independence, and the USA was born. Sun in Cancer, Moon in Aquarius. The Moon in the chart of a county is The People...and Aquarius seems apropos, people of all nationalities coming from everywhere, great concept (unless you were a native)
Around the Sun all the planets have gone, and 246-248 years later, we are in what is called a “Pluto Return”. A return is when a planet has gone around a full orbit and returned to where it was when the chart was ‘born’. This time, Pluto entered Capricorn (for the first time since then) in 2008, ironically, the day that Obama won his first election. Obama's election was significant astrologically , as he was elected at the time he was the USA's 8th Saturn Return president. Every 28 years Saturn circles the Sun and in the USA's chart, Saturn at the top of the chart means authoritative direction change. Other Saturn Return presidents include Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and the last one before Barack Obama was Ronald Reagan. They are said to change the direction of the country, and Obamas' presidency influenced by a Saturn/Pluto message (the fact that Pluto will remain in Capricorn until 2024) we see how this backlash opened the door for Trump.
Another player in The Times is the planet Uranus, with an orbit of 84 years. Called The Revolutionary, it was on this side of the Zodiac when we were fighting the Revolutionary War. 84 years later it swung back in time for the Civil War and was last there for WW Two. It went into Taurus, where it is now from 1935 to 1942, where it will stay until 2026.
Cut to January 2020. It catches my eye that Saturn and Pluto (Saturn’s orbit 28-30 years, Pluto, as you now know, 248) would be Exactly aligned at 22 degrees Capricorn! An exact alignment? Rare, Rare, REALLY, REALLY RARE!!! The last time these two traveled together in Capricorn was the 15th Century--and they were widely apart, not the exact degree. So Saturn Lord of Karma—(meaning the result of previous decisions made) and Pluto, God of the Underworld (meaning what is underneath, the pattern, motives, genetics, etc) would come together this year to reveal the underbelly of our world, all our problems, things we ignore, things we do not know, secrets, lies, motives... and bring them to the surface to transform them! I said, what the heck can this BE?
In January, here in the North Bay we were still reeling from last years fires, so I imagined some Global Warming event, and I knew it was the election year, so I figured that would be a ‘wild ride' (to understate) and I sat back and in March, low and behold, what occurred during these transits was our new adventure in the Underworld, Covid 19. AKA Pluto, which appears to be revealing so much about who we are and how we handle things. Much could be said here, but to finish the planetary placement picture, I must add that in the fall of 2019 Jupiter entered Capricorn as well, and there were then three of the most influential planets traveling through in the government sign of Capricorn. Jupiter’s orbit is 12 years around the Sun, and the quality it adds is that of exaggeration.
That alignment brought up so much, everyone was polarizing and had such different thoughts about what a government should be (and who exactly it should serve) but THEN in June, Mars, which has a 2 year orbit, went into Aries, the traditional sign of war. Mars is sparky, has high energy but its orbit is fast. It hits and runs, but every 2 years it stops and makes a stand and that is what it did (is doing) while in Aries, and Aries is a "square", a 90 degree angle of challenge, to the 3 Capricorn planets.
So in June Mars The God of War squares Saturn The Lord of Karma, Jupiter The Exaggerator, and Pluto The God of the Underworld. Shortly after Mars entered Aries, the murder of George Floyd, which occured the previous month, gained pubic attention and the riots started. Mars, by the way, will stay in Aries until Jan 6, 2021.
To stay that long in Aries, it had to go retrograde, which it did on the 9th of September, the first time Mars has retrograded in Aries for 26 years. Two days before the retro, the North Bay fires started. When a planet retrogrades, there is a moment when it appears to stand still as it "turns around"(it doesn't really turn around but the other planets pass it around the curve) and the day Mars ‘stood still’, was the Day of the Red Sky. Mars is often referred to as, The Angry Red Planet.We woke up and there was no day, pure rust color sky, bleak, pre-zombie apocalypse.
Zombie Apocalypse? We really felt the effects of the apocalypse a few days later in September, when Ruth Bader Ginzburg died and all the Dark Forces rose up.
That brings us to now.
All of those aspects still at play, by this time we find that the pres and "all of his men-and women" were loaded with Covid and he rebounded, hopped up on drugs, holding as many super spreader events as he can. It's hard to say what effect that will be but I imagine we will hear about it on the nightly death toll.
Then, on the 13th of October, we went straight into Mercury Retrograde ... and this aspect goes till…GET THIS…THE DAY OF THE ELECTION!!!!
Mercury is the planet of communication and information, often many pieces of info rise up or are suppressed, but it is the word game on steroids... Mercury continues back along the path where it came until it changes direction on Nov. 3rd. The Day we count the votes. The last time it did this was 2000—Bush v Gore.
Chaos abounds. Didn’t we expect this? I am only grateful my doctor convinced me to take blood pressure medicine.
Not to slide quietly 'into that great night'—of election returns, we have been sidelined, powerless as the manipulative politics of the Supreme Ct. is given entirely to corporations and a very narrow controlling few.
But, then, on December 16th, Saturn moves out of Capricorn where it has been since Dec of 2017, into Aquarius. The last time it was there was from 1991-1994. On the 20th, Jupiter enters Aquarius (first time in 12 years) and they travel together in Aquarius for the first time in 600 years or so!
Anyway there’s many more strange twists and turns, but the hope that I cling to is that the last time Saturn was in Aquarius, Apartheid was overturned. The time before that (1962-64) USA passed the Civil Rights legislation and the time before that,( 1932-34) it was FDR’s first term when he began to craft the social safety programs. Again, in the chart of the USA, the Moon in Aquarius is The People, and when Saturn is there, we have dealt with the needs of The People, and there is much needed to serve The People of the USA at this time.
So, bottom line, I don’t know who will win (a prediction is just a premature conclusion) but I DO know we move into a TOTALLY DIFFERENT set of aspects, that historically have served the entire society, take care of issues that need dealing with and have, in the past, made positive changes for years to come.
So, I ask myself how could Trump preside over such a time? I truthfully can’t imagine, when he 'won' in 2016, we were entering the cycle of Revolution, and he was unusual, the climate and appetite for something NEW was strong. This time, the needs of the population are great and it would tend to swing an advantage to a more evenly distributed power base, not someone who wants to do everything by himself, for himself. By the way, the last time Saturn was in the same aspects that Trump was elected under was Reagan’s last term when he had Alzheimer’s. Every 30 years whether we need it or not, we elect a mentally handicapped man and give him the keys to the nukes. Hummm
One more thing...
As I foreshadowed, I watched the Supreme Power Grab yesterday. I was SO depressed. The robotic candidate seemed so apart from the People of the United States, I wondered how could she possibly stand in judgment of anything? She did not seem to understand our needs, who we are, what is important to us and the lives we all live. The senate session opened under the process of Mercury going retrograde, (the implication of that being 'communication' being edited and stifled) and as I mentioned earlier, Mercury does not move forward until the day of the election. Between now and November 3rd,prepare for faulty information and deception (in California, the repubs are putting out fake election return boxes, yikes!) and there will be much out of control hyperbole. Also, it is a time of 'sleight of hand'. That's for sure! Anyway, after watching off and on all day, I got a headache and went to bed early. This morning I felt better, and I listened to the talk by Sheldon Whitehouse, it is BRILLIANT, and reveals what this power grab is all about. It's the opposite of "We The People"... and it brought to mind Ronald Reagan. He so famously said, "The most terrifying words in the English language are:"I'm from the government and I'm here to help" At the time, many people thought that was so cool, but what we forgot, to our great disadvantage ever since, is that this USA was formed to belong to ALL of us--we WERE the government--WE THE PEOPLE of the United States was ALL of US! The philosophy that government is wrong and constrictive has been proven false in so many ways. Before Reagan, we had better roads, better schools, comfortable AIRPLANE SEATS, we had protections, it was all about serving our needs, the needs of the middle class. We were important, because it was our government. When the government became the enemy, we lost our power--and began fighting among ourselves.
The aspects that we are moving into are all about either getting back (in a much more conscious way) to a government that is for, by and of The People, or it will be the end of the Democratic Experiment, and very likely the planet itself. (Mother Nature is at the end of her rope).
So, as the planets move to a new place along the elliptical path around the Sun, I suggest we greet this powerful placement standing for open mindedness, fairness, EACH OTHER, and letting go of greed and our belief we are enemies. When we reconnect, we have the ability to realize the potential of a true democratic government...the one our founders envisioned.
