Moon in Virgo

Moon in Virgo oppose Mercury in Pisces @ 3:43 a.m.
Moon in Virgo oppose Uranus in Pisces @ 4:16 a.m.
Venus in Capricorn sextile Jupiter in Scorpio @ 5:26 a.m.
Mercury in Pisces conjunct Uranus in Pisces @ 7:33 a.m.
Sun in Aquarius sextile Pluto in Sagittarius @ 6:39 p.m.
Moon in Virgo sextile Jupiter in Scorpio @ 9:34 p.m.
Moon in Virgo trine Venus in Capricorn @ 10:04 p.m.

Wow, as you can see by this very long list of aspects today, our Valentine’s Day is scored for any emotional experience that we choose to create!

If you are particularly fond of drama, get ready—there’s a Mercury conjunction to the versatile, unpredictable Uranus!   Perfect for a door-slamming hissy fit, it’s pure ‘diva’ energy!

Furthermore, you can really spin yourself into a frenzy (f you want to) with the Moon in Virgo's habit of concentrating on your  lists of expectations, (as only a Virgo moon can have) and then of course feeling disappointed that those expectations are not met—oh, THAT old game!  But why do that?

Yes, these are highly charged aspects, but hey, let’s get that door slamming out of the way early and prepare to receive the myriad of trines and sextiles that our luminaries have provided for us today along with the intense stuff!

Luna, always up for The Game of Love, settles down after her ‘tiff’ with Uranus and Mercury—she’s ready for a glass of brandy and a chocolate heart which she shares with that ‘big boy’ Jupiter who is traveling in sultry Scorpio.

Sol, not to be left out of today’s trysts, says hey—if you’re going the Scorpio route, go to the far edge—which is where he is today, making one of two sextiles that he will make this year with Hades himself, God of the Underworld, Pluto!  This is a power-pairing, and what a perfect day to shine light (the Sun) upon our deep needs and feelings (Pluto).

So, where would Valentine’s Day BE without the lovely rays of influence from Venus, our Love Goddess herself?  Venus will NOT be outdone today, and as such she’s scheduled her day to include a sextile to Jupiter in the morning, and a lovely trine to Luna in the evening.  As a consequence of these connections, our day will be naturally inclined towards sweetness and playfulness, with a dollop of generosity!  Perfect!

I Googled the word Love last night.  I just wanted to get a few other thoughts on the subject.  Do you know what I found?  Google told me that there were over five million websites with the word LOVE in them!  I didn’t have THAT much time, but I did sit for a while, click, click, clicking…from Rumi poetry (ahhhhh) to a scientific site that revealed the neuropatterns in our brain when we love (did you know that love produces phenyl ethylamine, which is a great diet drug?) I knew there was a reason I was 'hooked' on love! (chuckle)

Anyway, after all of that clicking I realized that what I really wanted to tell you all was simply a repeat of one of my favorite quotes, (you’ve most likely heard me say it before) because its message is so ‘true’.  This quote comes from my friend Ron Scolastico in L.A.  He (among his many talents) is a channel to Guides who are wise and clear and articulate, and they said this of love:

“Falling in love is the closest human experience to what it is like to be completely reunited with all of your soul”.

That’s it—that’s the feeling! We all know what it feels like to be separated from the One we love, but we seldom realize that the depression and angst that we often feel comes from being separated from parts of ourselves!  This is why when we have a love experience or a religious experience, we are ecstatic, it is because we are once again truly and deeply connected….and it is being connected that is the solution to all of our human problems, and whether we know it or not, it is what motivates everything we do.

So, that in mind, we are going to (if you wanna) do a visualization of connection, in honor of The Goddess of Love.

Close your eyes (better to concentrate, but don’t do it until you READ this, of course!) and breathe.

Vision light at the center of your heart.

See that light pulse and get bright and strong…watch it grow, hear the heart beat, and then increase in power… beating stronger, beating brighter, SEE the brightness, HEAR the rhythm, brighter, louder, brighter, louder, BRIGHTEST and LOUDEST and then ZZAAAPPPPP!!!!! Watch that light explode and shoot beams out into the world from the center of your heart, off to ALL directions!  Watch that light permeate every thing it comes in contact with!

First see the light connect with those you love.  Then see the light expand and connect with everyone who is reading this…. Then see it connect to everyone in the state that you live, then the country, then see it connect to the whole world…link that light from heart to heart to heart!

Then synchronize rhythms…all hearts on the earth, all breathing in connectedness, connected by light and by sound...every living creature (yes, even G.W.!!! he really needs it!) loving, including, forgiving, accepting energy….this is not about judgment, this is just a recognition that we are all here as part of The Whole….include the beauty and power of Venus and Luna and Jupiter and Sol and Mercury and EVERY planet and comet and blade of grass, and drop of water as they are part of your cells, and they travel in your pulse…until you hold the entire galaxy in your heart!

Whew!

Now THAT’S a Valentine!

Remember, only loving the world will change the world.  It’s just hard to keep it up.  Today is perfect practice; it is a day that we agreed to do just that.  We’ll start here.

Send love, BE love.

Moon in Leo goes Void @ 3:48 a.m. Enters Virgo @ 8:13 a.m.

Moon in Leo trine Pluto in Sagittarius @ 12:34 a.m. Moon in Leo square Mars in Taurus @ 3:48 a.m.

I might have mentioned before that I am up with the chickens (actually, just one chicken-er, our rooster Scooter who thinks its his job to get me up these days!) but I am in the habit of it anyway. I just love time in the early morning, it feels as if the ‘Gods’ are still here, and have not yet returned to their daytime home. (Mt. Olympus?)

I was practicing my sacred morning ritual (grinding coffee beans) when my foggy eyes lifted up to look out of my kitchen window.  There sailed the most beautiful moon ever—full and bright and gliding over the Western Sky!  Even though her companion The Sun rose to meet her, she did not dim in the least!  Like a good omen, I felt that this day was full of possibilities, and although there’s no real astrological reason why that would be, I thought let’s DECLARE it so anyway!

Then as I looked at my calendar, I realized that there IS one thing that we can say is very auspicious today—the square from Luna to Mars (which occurred at 3:48 a.m.) was the last of it’s kind, and will NOT be repeated again for (about) two years!!!  Adios, and yippee!

Ever since Mars entered Taurus at the end of July in 2005, our Lovely Luminescent Goddess, keeper of our emotions, has been caught in a grand square in fixed sign web, four times a month every month, until the middle of this night.  Perhaps that’s why Luna seemed so happy—she was veritably glowing—no more monthly tussle with the yang God of War, at least not while he has ‘allies’ in the other fixed signs, and at least not while he’s in the strong fixed sign of the Bull.  Friday Mars leaves Taurus and enters Gemini!

Things have been a bit tense lately you must admit. I can’t promise that ALL of our problems will be solved (this IS earth, after all) but we may have a bit more clarity and less focus on our angst and frustration!

In honor of, and to contribute to, a positive and uplifting state of mind and heart, I would like to share with you two terrific things that I received over the weekend.

First, our wonderful C Star S reporter, Pam Burns-Clair sent an encouraging, enlightening and uplifting entry!  You can go right to it at http://www.cardinalstarsystems.com/special/spirit.html and enjoy! (I have not fully explored all of the clicks, but what I have is most soul nurturing!)  Thanks, Pam!

At the same time I happened to get one more great email that I want to share with you all…..from my wonderful friend, Catherine DePrima…

"A friend just forwarded this. Don't know if it's true or not, but I
really like the idea of it."
xxoxo

”There is a tribe in Southern Africa called the Babemba. When a person
there does something wrong, something that destroys their delicate social
network in the village, it brings all the work in the village to a halt.
The people gather around the "offender," and one by one they begin to
recite everything he has done right in his life:  every good deed,
thoughtful behavior and act of social responsibility.  These things have
to be true about the person, and spoken honestly, but the time-honored
consequence of misbehavior is to appreciate that person back into the
better part of himself.  The person is given the chance to remember who
he is and why he is important to the life of the village.”

As I read about this practice, I realized it was the perfect antidote to the ‘second addiction’.  Have I mentioned the Four Addictions lately?  These are from Angeles Arriens brilliant work.  Angeles teaches that they are the four internal things that underlie all of our external addictions, and they are:

  • Addiction to Perfection (ouch)
  • Addiction to Focusing on what’s not working! (Unlike the Babemba system!)
  • Addiction to Intensity
  • Addiction to The Need To Know (okay, I have a long way to go on this one)

Culturally, the second addiction is what we call The News!  Rare is it that we focus on the things that go right with our culture, of which there are many, many stories of great humans who contribute to MAGIC and healing and kindness everywhere!

So, in honor of good news and Mars leaving the grand square, and a Monday (otherwise known as Moon Day) that began with the vision of the lovely Luna dressed in her full cloak of light,  I declare this a “Second Addiction-Free” day—let’s all get out there today and look for the good stuff!

Moon in Leo

Moon in Leo opposite Neptune in Aquarius @ 6:59 a.m.
Moon in Leo square Jupiter in Scorpio @ 8:24 a.m.
Moon in Leo opposite Sun in Aquarius (Full Moon) 8:44 p.m.

So, we see Grasshoppers that our weekend is all about navigating through those ‘fixed’ signs again.  I’m writing this Dujour on Saturday morning, and Luna is creeping up towards her exact conjunction to Saturn, and I feel it.  While yesterday at this time the earth was draped in spring, this morning’s tulle fog may not be just tulle, but actually clouds for the day.  Saturn conjunct the Moon makes itself felt.

Our Saturn/Luna dance is the only major aspect of this day, and it is ‘done’ by 9-ish. Still, you know the ‘rules’, we will feel the vapor trail of it throughout the day.  Do we all remember what this aspect expects of us?

Saturn is about the point of awareness, and the Moon is about our feelings, so yes, we will be all about our emotions today, but we must remember to not invest in the downside of our feelings (otherwise known as fear) but instead to ‘ground’ them and spend some time, if needed, interpreting what your emotions are saying.  Remember:  It’s never about the ‘cover’ story!

(Sunday)

Now, on Sunday Luna meets the planets that are hanging out at center of the fixed brigade.  Always waiting in the ‘middle’ of Aquarius where it has been traveling for the last three years (with 1 ½ more years to go until it hits the 20th degree) is Neptune.  Remember, it moves so slowly, it only sails about one to three degrees a year.  It’s so slow that it makes sure we ‘get its message’.  What IS its message? Well, I didn’t know, but then I thought I would look up the Sabian Symbol for the degree that Neptune was traveling, between 17-18th degree of Aquarius.  I promise I will tell you all the story of how those symbols got created (very groovy) but no time today! (White rabbiting)

I will say only that there is a Sabian Symbol (which is a Haiku of sorts) for every degree of the Zodiac.  First ‘created’ by Dane Rudyar, a legendary astrologer from the 50’s, they describe the essence of what that degree is about.  It is a hoot to look up your personal symbols, most specifically the Sun, as it is your essence. (Mine is about ‘brownies’ dancing in the twilight, uh hum) so you see they are all different.

Now, remember that Neptune will be at this degree all year, and you’re never going to believe what the symbol for this degree is;

“A man’s secret motives are being publicly unmasked”

Wow!  I kid you not!! I read that right as Wally was reading me a story about Boehner (the new Tom Delay) who has been the Majority Speaker for less than a month, and they are already going through HIS laundry list of illegal and graft-y doings…not to mention all of the squealers squealing…17th degree of Aquarius, very exciting!

Anyway, the rest of Sunday’s aspects, include a square to Jupiter (a tendency for too-much-ness, so try to pace yourselves) might be difficult to do, since it is the night of The Full Moon in Leo!!!!

Hoooowwlll!  It will come at “Prime Time” tonight—8:44 p.m.!

Walk outside and pull this moon into your lungs…close your eyes and feel that moonlight slide over your skin….drink in the energy of The Great Mothers…Mother Nature and Mother Moon…..be a PART of what is going on at that very moment, and decide that that moonlight is absorbable POWER, which it is. Don’t forget to put your papers outside tonight, if you want to capture some of that light to write on when the dark of the moon arrives.

Have a howlingly delicious weekend, Grasshoppers….BE nature!

Moon in Cancer goes Void @ 12:53 p.m. Enters Leo @ 7:44 p.m.

Moon in Cancer sextile Mars in Taurus @ 12:53 p.m.

Tick, tick, tick….Mercury is moving, inch by inch up to a conjunction with Uranus, the Awakener, the planet of revolution and the planet of the unexpected….and it’s scheduled to arrive exactly on Tuesday, St. Valentine’s Day!

What’s up with that?  What can it mean?  Will we take to the streets in protest? (Er, again) Will Scooter and Brownie and all of the Other Elves get past the media police and save their skins by turning ‘states evidence?’ Wow, we’ll see.  These are indeed exciting times.  (*Ed note…from what I see on Google News this morning, they’re singing like canaries….can this BE?)

Now remember that Mercury, our quick moving messenger-planet, takes the celestial track in a mere 88 days.  In order to keep pace with his boss, Old Sol, he runs ahead, stops, runs back again (retrograde) and when he ‘catches up’ to the Big Chief (tapping his restless feet all the way) he begins to move forward again.  Because he waits for the sun, his orbit through all twelve of the zodiac signs will take a year to complete.  Without going retrograde, our Merc could go around the sun four times in the time that it takes the Sun to go once!  (88 X 4 = 352!)

This means that Mercury will hit each degree of the zodiac once a year, but because he will travel back over certain degrees, (during his 3 ½ retro’s per year), he will hit some points more than once.  Uranus, often a force of disruption, will be meeting Mercury for the first time next Tuesday, while Mercury is still moving direct.  They will come together exactly on the 14th of February, and after the retrograde begins on March 3rd, they will spend the next month coming towards each other again, arriving within one degree of another conjunction on the 25th  of March.

It’s approaching now, and we are watching The Singing Elves.  We have over two months of ‘liberating’ events to go, what will follow?

Wow!  There’s one thing we can all be sure of.  These will be very exciting times politically.  Events will occur out of the ‘norm’.  That’s just the ‘out there’ influence, but the revolution ‘within’ will be just as strong for each of us.  Stay open, fair and fearless, all tyrants have struggles maintaining absolute power when this aspect occurs, including our own ‘inner tyrants’.

The Uranus/Mercury aspect is coming, and it will hold keys to set you “free!”  Look for them!  Happy Friday and Power to the People!

Moon in Cancer

Moon in Cancer trine Uranus in Pisces @ 3:16 a.m.
Moon in Cancer oppose Venus in Capricorn @ 5:39 p.m.
Moon in Cancer trine Jupiter in Scorpio @ 8:00 p.m.

Just back from a remote outpost in my mind, I am happy to report that the star pattern today is clear for take-off!

Mercury is nestled firmly in the sign of Pisces, where it will remain (and even go through its retrograde) until the 17th of April.

Today, our Merc is happily trining the Moon, trining Jupiter, and sextiling Venus, saying to us all…”Hey, let’s all just groove”.  In general, the aspects of this day will provide for us a background of creative, imaginative and co-operative energies, and yes, with all this water there is still a tendency for overly intense emotion.  With that in mind, don’t forget to just count to three (or, may I recommend) upping your protein quota.  Too much water planetary influence can be heck on the sugar cravings…and if all else fails, try going to bed early—it works wonders!

And by the way….since Jupiter will be in Scorpio until November, and Mercury will stay in Pisces until the middle of April, this trine between the two of these planets will remain active and influential throughout the next couple of months—this is cool!  There is ample energy (Jupiter) for creative ideas (Mercury) and artistically and scientifically, this is a time when our inner ‘genius’ can emerge!!

However—let us not forget that Pisces is the ‘ruling’ sign of FEAR, as well!  Fear is frequently the companion to creativity—why do you suppose that is?  Speaking collectively, with these aspects we will more than likely be given a heavy dose of fear propaganda during this time, so don’t over react, it’s just Karl Rove.

Okay, Grasshoppers, get out there and use those minds for fun and problem solving—for every problem, there IS a solution, let’s aim to be part of the solution, not the problem!

Due to a Mercury/ Saturn opposition (occurring in my own personal chart) Dujour will be pre empted today by a nervous breakdown.

You will all note that said Mercury will enter Pisces @ 5:22 p.m. you might feel the effects of this aspect, too.

Have a nice day.

Moon in Gemini

Moon in Gemini trine Neptune in Aquarius @ 8:11 a.m.
Moon in Gemini trine Sun in Aquarius @ 11:06 a.m.

Moon in Gemini.  You have heard me say many, many times, that this moon often precedes something catastrophic for ‘we the people’ here in the States.  It was the sign that the moon was in the charts of 9-11, Katrina, Wilma, Rita, The signing of The Patriot Act #1, and then yesterday, when W revealed his 2006 Budget Plan!!!

Yup, one more national disaster, comin’ up!

I dialed up Google this morning, expecting to find outrage in every column, but it was not there.  Instead, the whole story was reduced to a tiny byline in one little section, and it had the spin of the Rove upon it as well, saying merely that W’s priorities were to protect the poor little people of the US, from the big, bad terrorists, so in order to do that, he is decreasing funding to education, health care and the sciences. (While magically protecting the rights of The Very Rich to stay insulated from it all!!)

Now, you can all imagine just what I have to say about that—and I DID say it all!  I’ve been writing (steam rising from my head) since dawn.  Then, before I poured this stuff on you guys,  I tuned in to my horoscope (by Eric Francis) and for Aries he said that I was too opinionated and overbearing lately, and I needed to give it a rest! (er, I am paraphrasing) So you know what I did?  I just pressed the delete button on my commentaries!

Without my tirade, there wasn’t much to say, so I thought that I would leave you all with this one thought, though.  In regards to W’s 2006 Budge;

Just what do you think Jesus would do?

Yeah, you heard me right.

Do you think that Jesus would side with W and give all of the nations money to contractors to blow the living heck out of every man, woman and puppy on this planet?  Do you think with Jesus’s natural sense of compassion that he would continue to give all of the money to the richest among us, knowing that it’s been rough on them to keep their ‘second fleet’ of boats maintained, what with the rising costs of labor and all?

I ask you--would Jesus find the needs of the poor annoying, and their pesky addiction to eating food and requiring medicine and hoping for a better education for their children way too much of a drain on our national budget?

I’d tell you what I think, but my horoscope said I was too pushy and I haven’t been listening enough.

So I ask YOU, what do YOU think?

Moon in Gemini

Sun in Aquarius square Jupiter in Scorpio @ 10:17 a.m.
Moon in Gemini sextile Saturn in Leo @ 12:43 p.m.
Mercury in Aquarius sextile Pluto in Sagittarius @ 12:51 p.m.
Moon in Gemini square Uranus in Pisces @ 5:13 p.m.

A lively Monday we have going for us today!

First, we note that our Moon is zipping through the ‘party sign’ of Gemini, which is always a frisky and communicative aspect no matter what is going on in the rest of our Solar System! (Remember this is the aspect where all of our recent storms have take place?).  This energy is enhanced by Luna’s monthly square to Uranus, a planet of unpredictable action! This square will be exact this afternoon (5:13 p.m.) but we will feel the influence of it impending all day.

Luna is not the only light to have a ninety degree stand off today; her companion and mentor, the big guy himself, Old Sol, will be squaring Jupiter, another large Titan (happens early today, 10:17 a.m.) and throughout the day we will feel the active, high stress, yet can-do energy that they generate, as well.

No telling what will BE, I have looked on front page Google but it just upset me (did you all hear that W’s man, Gonzales, (on the topic of domestic spying), has declared that W can do whatever the heck he wants to and its none of our business, in SPITE of that pesky piece of paper called the Constitution?)  The way he’s got things set up, W will most likely be given a Purple Heart for his domestic spying program, the ultimate PR ‘coup’ but I decided to just let it go…the Sun’s out and I decided to just BEE HAPPY today…

Oh, yeah, and talking about what these things ‘portend’….we had a speculation about the big Super Bowl game and the Void Moon….perhaps not having a connected game and all.  Well….I SAW that game (every now and then) and I HEARD that game (the whoops of my friends) and I think it must have been a very connected game, everyone seemed really into it! (Unless you liked the Blue Guys…you guys can claim ‘void moon’ as the reason it was a difficult game if you want to!)  As for the rest of us, it appears that Void Moon’s have nothing to do with how ball games turn out, and this is a good thing to know!

Enjoy today and buckle up when driving!

Moon in Taurus square Sun in Aquarius @ 10:29 p.m.

Moon in Taurus goes Void @ 1:00 p.m. Enters Gemini @ 11:32 p.m.

Moon in Taurus square Neptune in Aquarius @ 12:11 a.m.
Moon in Taurus oppose Jupiter in Scorpio @ 1:01 a.m.
Mercury in Aquarius square Mars in Taurus @ 12:09 p.m.
Moon in Taurus conjunct Mars in Taurus @ 12:54 p.m.
Moon in Taurus square Mercury in Aquarius @ 1:00 p.m.
Sun conjunct Neptune 9:34 p.m.

As you can see, star-watching Grasshoppers, with Luna traveling through one of the four fixed signs this weekend, there will be plenty of emotional intensity and high energy—er, right up to the very minute when Luna goes void—about 1 ½ hours before the Super Bowl game starts!!!

Wow, this year’s Super Bowl will be entirely under a void moon!

Well, your guess is as good as mine how that will go, but we know one thing, we’re going to have an opportunity to see just how a void moon affects a football game!

Don’t forget the first rule of Astrology—it’s all about observation.  We will watch and we will see.  Since it’s the game that’s under this aspect (not one team or another) my guess is there may be some disputed ‘calls’ in the game (not that I know too much about football—that was my whole shot at sounding knowledgeable right there!) but a void moon is usually ‘ineffectual’ so here’s the advice:

Have great food, fun friends, and an unattached attitude, and no matter where those stars are, it will be a fun Sunday!

Moon in Aries goes Void @ 10:32 a.m. enters Taurus @ 5:31 p.m.

Venus SD @ 1:19 a.m.
Moon in Aries trine Pluto in Sagittarius @ 10:32 a.m.

It’s 9:30 a.m. and I am just now turning on the computer! Audrey called last night and said that she heard that there was a virus that was rumored to ‘hit’ either last night or early this morning.  A yellow alert!  Having HAD a virus (remember last summer?) I didn’t want to repeat that experience, still—a watched pot usually doesn’t boil and it didn’t feel like I was facing immanent inhalation.

Consequently, I have a teeny, tiny moment to speak with you all this morning, because as you notice, there is an aspect of some significance occurring today.

You see on today’s Daily Stars, that the sparkling Venus, our Goddess of Love and Beauty is going stationary direct today!

After being retrograde since December 24, she will now be moving forward and she will take her creative energy OUT into the world from the place of gestation in our INNER world!  Helpful!

How might that affect us humanoids?

Of course, it’s always personal, but in general Venus ‘on the move’ forward brings feelings, ideas, projects, energies that we just haven’t been able to harness or organize (during a retrograde), up and OUT into pool with the rest of us, in other words we have more useful and usable creative energy.

As with any planet changing direction, there will be a woozy, turn-around thing, (somewhat Mercury-retro-grad-ie-feeling!) hence, the yellow alert (and speaking personally, a few dozen things not working around here!)  It's a major 'gear shift!'

After the whiplash, we can all just kick back and enjoy getting our creative imaginations back in action!

Hey, it’s all happening on Friday—Venus’s day!  Good omen, enjoy!
